Embark on a journey into the past and discover Ancient Olympia, one of the most historic and emblematic archaeological sites in Greece. The excursion starts with a beautiful route towards the Peloponnese, with a stopover at the Corinth Canal, the impressive engineering project that connects the Ionian Sea with the Aegean Sea.
Olympia has been the sacred centre of the worship of Zeus since the 10th century BC and the birthplace of the Olympic Games, the most important sporting institution of the ancient world. You will tour the Ancient Stadium, the Temple of Zeus and Hera, the Gymnasium and the site where the Olympic Flame is lit. Optionally, you can visit the Archaeological Museum of Olympia and the Museum of the Olympic Games.
After the tour, you will have time to enjoy lunch in a traditional tavern in the village of Ancient Olympia and buy local products and souvenirs. The day ends with your return, full of images and experiences from the place that gave birth to the Olympic ideal.
